P1 Course Content
ALGEBRA AND PROOF: Laws of indices, surds, polynomials, factor theorem, quadratic functions, simultaneous equations, linear and quadratic inequalities, proof by direct methods.
TRIGONOMETRY: Arc lenghth, area of sector, radians, periodicity, identities, solution of trigonometric equations.
COORDINATE GEOMETRY: Equations of a straight line, parallel and perpendicular lines, mid-point.
SEQUENCES AND SERIES: nth term, use of notation, arithmetic and geometric progressions, sum to infinity.
DIFFERENTIATION: Gradient as tangent, limit, rate of change, differentiation of powers of x, second order differentiation, applications to gradients, maxima, minima and stationary points.
INTEGRATION: Reverse of differentiation, indefinite, definite, area under a curve.
