S2 Course Content

BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTION: mean, variance.

POISSON DISTRIBUTION: mean, variance, use of Poisson as a approximation to the binomial distribution

CONTINUOUS RANDOM VARIABLES: concept, pdf, cdf, mean, variance, mode, median and quartiles.

CONTINUOUS DISTRIBUTIONS: continuous uniform distribution, use of normal as an approximation to the binomial and Poisson distributions, use of continuity correction.
